New Jersey Pay and Benefits Transparency Law Now in Effect

Published Friday, June 13, 2025

The New Jersey Pay and Benefits Transparency Law, effective June 1, 2025, requires employers to include pay, benefits, and other compensation details in all job postings, including those for transfers and promotions. It also mandates that employers make reasonable efforts to inform current employees about promotional opportunities. The law applies to all formats—online, print, social media, and more—and aims to ensure fair compensation and transparency for all workers. The New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development enforces this law and supports all workers, regardless of immigration status.
