On October 28, Cape May County Chamber President Barbara Stafford Jones addressed the League of Municipalities at Exit Zero Restaurant, highlighting the Chamber's dedication to promoting local business growth, advocating for fair regulations, and fostering a sustainable future for Cape May County.
Established in 1916 and chartered in 1954, the Chamber represents around 840 members and serves as a hub for local economic development. Jones emphasized the Chamber's commitment to supporting a vibrant business community through key initiatives, such as networking events, training, and policy advocacy. Notably, the Chamber has joined county leaders in opposing NJ PACT REAL regulations and offshore wind projects, as well as working towards increased returns from tourism occupancy taxes for Cape May County.
Jones also spotlighted the Chamber’s leadership program, recently enhanced through a partnership with Stockton University, which offers advanced standing for graduates and alumni entering the MBA program.
"The Chamber champions collaboration, resourcefulness, and forward-thinking," Jones remarked, adding that the Chamber’s efforts go beyond profit margins to build a sustainable and thriving future for both residents and visitors.
