Ocean City, N.J. - Have a “tee-rific” time while helping others at the Cape May County Chamber Education Foundation's 10th Annual FORE Education Golf Tournament on June 25 at the Avalon LINKS Golf Club, 1510 Route 9, Cape May Court House.
The tournament takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The event benefits programs such as Leadership Cape May County, and provides scholarships to college-bound and post-secondary adult education students.
In addition to 18 holes of golf, guests can participate in hole-in-one contests, a PGA Golf Clinic and putting contest, and take swings on the driving range. Tournament participants also will receive an Avalon LINKS boxed lunch. Refreshments will be available to purchase on the course.
After enjoying some friendly competition, golfers can savor delicious dishes at the club’s gourmet dining stations. An auction, raffle baskets, prizes and awards also will be on the menu.
The honoree of the 10th Annual FORE Education Golf Tournament, presented by ICONA Resorts, is lifelong Cape May County resident Jim Ridgway Sr. A former Lower Cape May Regional High School teacher, Ridgway spent 34 years educating students about marketing, business law and consumer economics. During his tenure, he coached golf, basketball and cross country. After retiring from teaching in 2009, Ridgway transitioned to a career in real estate. He also was the Lower Township Manager from 2018 to 2022.
