On Friday, March 8, the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce will hold the 19th Annual Women in Business Conference, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., at the Flander’s Hotel. The theme of this year’s conference focuses on “Stewardship: Leading with Purpose, Nurturing Success” with a dynamic agenda of speakers including:
U.S. Coast Guard Training Officer Commander Amanda Denning
Thomas Piratzky; Executive Director, Cape Regional Foundation
Lauren Crenshaw; Executive Director, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Atlantic, Cape May and Camden Counties
This year the conference is dedicated in the memory of Barbara St. Clair, who was a founding member of the Women in Business Conference, served on the Chamber Board, the Cape Women's Resource Fund for decades and was named a Trustee to Cape Regional Health System.
The conference also features a panel discussion entitled “From Inspiration to Action: Cultivating Stewardship, Giving, and Paying It Forward in Our Lives” moderated by Amy Mahon, featuring Dr. Pat Gentile, President, Cape May County Women’s Commission, Fran Wise, Director of Development, Avanzar, Claire T. Galiano, Executive Director, Coalition Against Rape & Abuse (CARA) and Dorrie Papademetriou, Designer, MudGirls Studios. The focus of the panel will discuss the journey from individual inspiration to tangible actions related to stewardship, giving, and paying it forward.
The date of this year’s conference falls on March 8th, which is International Women’s Day and according to Amy Mahon, Chairwoman of the Chamber, “We are very excited to hold our Women In Business Conference on International Women’s Day because we see our business community and Chamber membership becoming more diverse every day. This conference is all about supporting each other and we are proud to tie into this momentous day of celebrating all women around the world.”
