Cape May County is proud to support our military and veterans. A perfect example of the County's patriotism can be witnessed at the Sunset Beach Flag Ceremony held daily May through September. It has been a tradition for over 40 years!

Stephen C. Ludlam Post #331 Veterans Salute at cemeteries

Each Memorial Day, the American Legion Post 331 in Stone Harbor at 11617 2nd Ave., presents flag placement, a rifle salute and taps at 9 cemeteries. Our Veterans never forget. The schedule of cemetery visits is as follows:

  1. Stephen Ludlam’s Grave Methodist Church, Rte. 47 & School House Lane
  2. Dennis Twp. Munc. Twp. Bldg., Dennisville
  3. New Asbury Meeting House Church, 1811 Rte 9, Middle Twp.
  4. Soldier’s Grave on west side of Rte. 9 South of Avalon Blvd.
  5. John Wesley Methodist Church Cemetery, Rte. 646
  6. Green Holly Campground, Rte. 646, west of South Dennis Rd.
  7. Soldier’s Grave, west side of Rte 9 near CMC Park
  8. Soldier’s Grave, west side of Rte 9 across from Oceana Nursing Home
  9. Fairway Cemetery, east side Rte 9 near Atlantic City Electric

There will be a total of between 20-25 veterans going to the cemeteries.
